NEW DETECTION TOOLS FOR WOODWORKERS
A
new range of special-purpose metal detectors can save woodworkers hundreds
of dollars in equipment damage.
Van
Nuys, California. There's probably nothing more annoying to a woodworker
than damaging a planer, saw or jointer blade. Frequently small metal
objects such as staples, nails, screws or even bullets can be hidden
inside new or recycled wood. Undetected, these metal culprits often
cause costly planer or jointer blade damage, or worse still, they can

First
in new line up is the Little Wizard hand held metal detector. It is
designed to detect metal objects buried up to 1 1/2" deep in wood.

departs from other security-type detectors with added

8" tall by 14" wide scanning loop. Wood or lumber is scanned
with powerful detector coils that can penetrate up to 3" thick
on all sides of a piece of wood in a single pass. The Wood Scan Wizard
can sit on top of a saw table or workbench for wood to be passed through
its loop or the unit can be swept over wood by hand. The Wood Scan Wizard
retails for $69.00.
The
