Van Nuys, California. Wizard Distribution, a leading manufacturer of high-quality, low cost detection equipment, and makers of the popular Wizard line of metal detectors, announced last Friday that it is experiencing an increased demand in the wake of recent violence, Wizard has stepped up production of the Security Wizard at its manufacturing facility in Asia.

The Security Wizard was launched in May this year. According to Wizard C.E.O. Billy Carmen, "With the escalation in school violence over the past year, and the budget constraints of school districts around the country, we saw the need for a lower cost-effective, easy-to-use security wand." Carmen continues, "By re-thinking our existing woodworking metal detector products, we were able to bring the Security Wizard to market at less than half the cost of comparable detectors."

Providing high sensitivity detection at a low cost, the Security Wizard was designed as a user-friendly alternative to more expensive security wands. Since its launch, reviews of the product have been glowing. According to several leading retailers, "The Security Wizard was much more sensitive and effective than others we tried."

The Security Wizard features a tough injection molded construction, and an advanced detection coil and circuit board combination that provides increased sensitivity and range. Weighing in at only 17.5 ounces, the Security Wizard's dimensions (3" wide, 19" long, and 1.25" thick) not only enhance its handling, but also give the tool a recognizable shape to help deter would-be trouble makers. It has both audio alert, an LED alert, a silent vibration alert mode, and a headphone jack. A single 9-volt battery provides up to 80 hours of normal operation.

With all the special attention put into the design of The Security Wizard, a similar emphasis was placed on making it readily available to those who need it most. Even prior to the events in New York and Washington, Wizard had reached an agreement with ACE Hardware to make the Security Wizard available in over 5,800 ACE stores across the country.
